Meet the Founders
Here is a brief description of the people behind the creation and development of this magazine. Meeting online and based in Dubai and London, the two individuals below have worked remotely together for the past year. Over the course of many late nights, highs and lows, discussions and arguments, these two have brought you The Catalyst Quanta as you see it today.
Sharanya Shekhar
I’m ethnically Indian but grew up mainly in Singapore and Dubai. During my summer break, I founded The Catalyst Quanta—partly out of boredom, but mostly because I wanted to create something of my own. Born in December 2007, I’m currently in Year 12 and deeply passionate about immunology and biotechnology, which I hope to pursue in the future. But outside of academics, I love playing tennis, listening to music, painting, and cooking.
Wanheng Xu
I was born in the autumn of 2007 in Hong Kong, leaving for Singapore very soon after when I was only 3 months old. I now live in the UK, where I study at Eton College. I am studying Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Economics. I have a deep passion for medicine and biochemistry, birthed from my childhood dream of becoming a doctor and working in pharmaceuticals. In my free time, I love cooking, travelling the world, reading, listening to music and playing football.
